Printable Christmas Village

It's Christmas and I'm always searching for a fantastic DIY project for holiday decorations. This year, I discovered one that is ideal for decorating our dining room windows. All you'll need are these prints that I created in Canva, transparent tape, a window, a white chalk marker, and the skill to trace something (link to my Amazon Storefront) It’s also the perfect drawing activity to do with your little one. My son Grayson had a great time helping me draw on the windows, although I had to erase and redo most of the villages while he was sleeping.

First, what you want to do is print these free Christmas houses and trees for your winter scene. Once you have printed the images, measure your window and if necessary, trim them to fit. For example, my dining room windows are 20 inches wide, but I printed on 8.5x11 paper, so I needed to trim one inch from each print. After you have trimmed them to the desired size for your window, you can arrange the village scenes and tape them together. If your window isn't big enough for both scenes, just use one. We live on the second floor of our apartment, so I couldn't go outside to tape the prints. However, I managed to tape them from inside through our open windows. Once you have set up the village print on your window, you can start tracing with a white chalk marker. I personally prefer using Sharpie brand markers as they work better. First, trace the overall scene and then add your own elements like stars and snowflakes to make it unique. Feel free to be creative and make the winter village scene look the way you want. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact, I find these scenes look better when they're not too polished.
